Studio tags, not a hashtag dump

Generate one Studio tag, or pick 6 or 10. These are Studio phrases — they don’t start with #.

What this tool is

YouTube tags are optional phrases in Studio. They are not the same as hashtags in the description. This tool generates Studio tags only.

How it works

  1. 1

    Name the video

The topic should match the title you’ll actually use.

  2. 2

    Get a mixed list

Mostly specific phrases, plus a couple of broader ones — not 15 versions of “viral”.

  3. 3

    Delete the generic ones

If a tag could fit every video on YouTube, it probably isn’t helping yours.

Example tags

Topic: “CapCut captions for talking-head videos.”

  • capcut captions, talking head editing, youtube captions tutorial

    Specific

  • capcut for beginners, video editing tips

    Mid

  • youtube tutorial

Broad — keep one, not ten

How to use tags without kidding yourself

  • Tags don’t replace a clear title and thumbnail.
  • Prefer the words you already said in the video.
  • Need #tags for the description? Use the YouTube hashtag generator.

Questions people actually ask

What is a YouTube tag generator?

It suggests phrases for the Tags field in YouTube Studio. It is not a hashtag generator and it will not rank the video by itself.

How many YouTube tags should I use?

Enough to cover the real topic — often 8–15. More tags are not automatically better.

Are tags the same as hashtags?

No. Tags are Studio metadata. Hashtags are visible #words in the title or description. Use the matching tool for each.

Keep going with the same topic

Titles first, tags later — or the other way around.
