YouTube tags are optional phrases in Studio. They are not the same as hashtags in the description. This tool generates Studio tags only.

Name the video
The topic should match the title you’ll actually use.

Get a mixed list
Mostly specific phrases, plus a couple of broader ones — not 15 versions of “viral”.

Delete the generic ones
If a tag could fit every video on YouTube, it probably isn’t helping yours.

How many YouTube tags should I use?
Enough to cover the real topic — often 8–15. More tags are not automatically better.
Are tags the same as hashtags?
No. Tags are Studio metadata. Hashtags are visible #words in the title or description. Use the matching tool for each.
