What this tool is

A YouTube description is where search phrases, chapters, and links live. This generator writes that block so you’re not writing it at 1 a.m. in Studio. It cannot see your video file or your affiliate links.

How it works

  1. 1

    Describe the footage

Say what you actually shot. Tone and format change the length, not the facts.

  2. 2

    Get three lengths

A short blurb, a standard description, and a longer one with chapter placeholders.

  3. 3

    Swap in real details

Fix timestamps, add links you own, delete any line the video doesn’t support.

Example descriptions

Same video: a beginner meal-prep walkthrough. Three jobs, three lengths.

  • Meal prep for beginners — pantry staples, four meals, no extra gadgets.

    Short blurb

  • What you’ll get: a shopping list mindset, the order I cook in, and what I skip. Chapters included.

    Standard

  • A longer walkthrough for people who want the why, not just the steps — with placeholder timestamps.

    Detailed

What belongs in a description

  • First two lines should make sense with the title and thumbnail.
  • Chapters help on longer videos. Guessed times are worse than none — replace them.
  • Links you don’t own shouldn’t be invented by a model.
  • After the description, use the YouTube tag and hashtag tools if you still need those fields.

Questions people actually ask

What is a YouTube description generator?

A generator. You describe the video and get a few description lengths to edit. It does not upload anything or read your analytics.

How long should a YouTube description be?

YouTube allows thousands of characters. Viewers usually see the first 2–3 lines. Put the useful sentence there, then details and chapters below.

Should I stuff keywords into the description?

No. Use the phrases people would search if they fit the footage. A keyword paragraph at the bottom looks like spam and doesn’t replace a clear video.
